Government Decides To Develop Green BuildingsIn two years, Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, which comes under the ministry of environment and forests, will be showcased as the government's initiative to develop green buildings in Delhi. It is going to have all the features of a green building: Adequate sunlight, instead of artificial fluorescent lights; natural cooling, instead of air-conditioners; solar power, instead of artificial power generation, and a lot more. The ministry aims for Paryavaran Bhawan to be accredited with the esteemed platinum rating under Leed-India (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a green building rating system of the Indian Green Building Council). KUL To Redevelop Realty Projects In Mumbai
KUL Chairman & Managing Director, Mr Lalit Kumar Jain said that redevelopment is the future of real estate in Mumbai that faces severe constraints on the availability of open land within city limits. The company has taken up 18 redevelopment projects of existing properties in the city and there are about 2,000 families who will be accommodated in new flats. At present, KUL is working on the development of eight of these projects. It will start delivering flats by the year-end and complete the process of possession in the rest of the projects within 18 months to 36 months, depending on the size of the project, a press release from the company said. NBCC To Develop Affordable Housing Complexes
National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd is developing affordable housing complexes in Uttar Pradesh, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Kochi and Patna. The company has allotted 448 affordable houses in Rajarhat, Kolkata, where the price of a two-bedroom flat is Rs 14 lakh and a three-bedroom flat costs Rs 18 lakh. It will allot another 352 houses in the next phase of the project. While the housing projects in Kochi and Patna are expected to start in the next six months, the Gurgaon and UP projects are likely to be completed in the next two years.
